Apical surgery

A procedure indicated when infection persists after root canal treatment, removing the affected tissue and saving the tooth whenever possible.

An apicoectomy is surgery that removes persistent infection at the root of a root-filled tooth by removing the tip of the root and sealing the apex to prevent further bacterial infection.

Microscopic apical surgery is specialised microsurgery that removes persistent infection at the root of the tooth when it cannot be resolved by conventional root canal treatment alone.
